I was going through my day: Having conversations, doing a variety of menial activities, when I found myself in the midst of an enormous crowd. Suddenly a spotlight shone on me. Up until this moment I had considered myself another anonymous face in the sea of people. Somehow I knew that this spotlight had been on me the whole time and I had just now become aware of it. Then, to my complete shock, every word I had spoken that day got blasted over speakers to the whole assembly.
I was slightly disturbed as I roused myself for the day. Right away two Bible passages came to mind:
Psalm 139:7-12 (NIV)
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
Matthew 12:36 (NIV)
But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
Live your life unto God knowing that He is always with you. Every action you take and word you speak has eternal significance. It’s easy to forget in daily life, and this dream reminded me to remain vigilant in my conduct as a child of Christ.
