Cast Your Vote, Then Cast Your Cares on God

It’s Election Day in the United States, but if you’re like me you won’t be electing anybody.  It’s not because I’m unpatriotic, apathetic, or a conscientious objector.  I moved.  Yep, I changed the location of my home and simply didn’t register my new digs fast enough.  This year I’m watching from the sideline.  The truth is even when I’ve voted in past elections I felt like a drip in the desert; unable to make a significant change to the political climate around me.

As a follower of the King of kings there is a greater truth to keep in mind.

Daniel 2:21(NIV)

He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others.  He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.

God is in control!  When you cast your vote don’t forget to cast your cares on God.  He alone is sovereign.  There is no reason to waste your time fretting over politics.

1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

If you hear family, friends, or co-workers grumbling about the outcome of elections, share this great truth with them.  God is the king of the universe!  Everything is going to be fine.
